Scoliosis

Scoliosis affects about 2% of the population and tends to run in families. It is the name given to a condition which occurs when the spine curves from side to side as opposed to just inwards in the lower back region. On an X-ray the spine of a patient with scoliosis takes an S or C shape form instead of appearing in a straight line.
